MEDIA ADVISORY: Walden, Newhouse, Secretary Rick Perry To Visit Hanford Site
Tomorrow, October 1, U.S. Representatives Greg Walden (R-OR) and Dan Newhouse (R-WA) will join U.S. Secretary of Energy Rick Perry in a visit to the Hanford site, in Washington State, to deliver remarks at an employee celebration to commemorate the completion of the K-Basin sludge transfer. This transfer was completed under budget, ahead of schedule, and reduces the environmental risks to the Columbia River. Following the delivery of remarks, Rep. Walden, Rep. Newhouse, and the Secretary will participate in a media availability. They will also speak with local STEM students and tour site facilities.
